Japanese Consul-General recognises Thredbo Patrollers
On 26 March 2007 the five patrollers involved in the Japan avalanche rescue (see news item for 14 Feb 2007) were invited with their partners to a presentation dinner at the Sydney Japanese Consulate.
The Consul-General recognised them as heroes with citations on certificates that read:
For exemplary conduct in an expeditious, precise and courageous manner at the risk of your own life.
